Sir Boom and myself have started a 48 hour detox that we feel is a good idea for next year. After a long weekend of many beers and L's, we felt a bit "off" yesterday. This is a usual Sunday hangover, nothing to worry about. But, we have been on a smoothie binge of late, so I proposed that we do a 48 hour stint with nothing other than smoothies and water. No food, no other beverages like coffee, and most importantly no substances (i.e. alcohol, marijuana, heroin).
Of course, as Wood is always down, we agreed to start last night and go until 10 pm on Tuesday.
I wanted to keep a log of the experience, and what better place is there to do it than the LP blog.
So far, 14 hours down, 2 smoothies in.
At 8:30 this morning we had a tangy smooth creation: ice, strawberries, pineapple, bannana, and orange juice. Got me through the morning class. Felt great.
12:50- mid day smoothie. Went to whole foods and stocked up for the fast. Second smoothie: ice, strawberries, a whole apple, green grapes, apple cider, and a "Green Vibrance" packet from whole foods that supplies a days worth of "certified organic greens, wild crafted herbs" in a powder form. The smoothie was very hearty and earthy.
I'm feeling good now. I think this is a great way to get your body back on track while enjoying yourself being creative with the smoothies and abstaining from harmful things. Miz, this summer we must employ this in Isla Vista. And with the amount of partying we're going to do in '07-'08, it might as well be a must in Brighton.
Stay tuned for the next smoothie...
